Beyond 2020, we believe that what we’re experiencing Today is going to have a long-term impact on the way we work. We don’t need to convince companies of the benefits of working from home, but it’s important to highlight that we have seen an increase in productivity, greater employee autonomy as well as increased employee engagement.
In this guide, we will start by listing the tools that we use at our company; many are free to try.
COMMUNICATION
For internal communications, we use Slack to chat with each other. It’s a better experience than email, however it will not completely replace your gmail or outlook accounts.
Conversations happen in dedicated spaces, which can be organized by topic, territory, or anything you’d like. Slack has phone, video-conference capabilities and screen sharing, however we haven’t been completely satisfied with the quality of those features and have been using Zoom conferencing instead.
Speaking of zoom, they provide enterprise video conferencing with real-time messaging and content sharing from desktop and mobile. It has yet to fail us during remote client demo presentations.
Most importantly, you can meet securely with their end-to-end encryption for all meetings in addition to role-based user security. If your company has office 365, you should be looking at Skype enterprise or Microsoft teams.
SALES
Switching gears to sending proposals or getting documents signed electronically, we recommend Qwilr and Docusign.
Qwilr let’s you create and send proposals and sales documents electronically to your clients.
Now with Docusign, you can electronically sign agreements from almost anywhere in the world. Another thing to consider before picking your eSignature solution is whether it integrates with your CRM.
To continue selling remotely, our team uses Beehivr Sales Assistant app, which enables them to send video call invitation links to clients, receive inbound calls as well as share anything from their iPad application during the call.
MARKETING
G-Suite from Google is an amazing collaboration tool where you can centralize all of your documents, presentations and sheets.
Alternatively, Office 365 by Microsoft offers similar tools in addition to One Drive and Teams.
For additional content management and file storage, we use dropbox, but you can also use box.com.
ACCOUNTING
Quickbooks is a great tool for small and medium businesses to track expenses and income via a cloud based platform which allows you to run reports instantly to see how your business is performing.
IT
As a tech company, we also needed a project management tool and for this purpose we use Asana premium as well as JIRA, which is a must to track IT tickets and project progress on the development side.
Finally, you will need a way to give permissions and accesses to your teams. What we use internally is 1password. You basically, only need to memorize one password to get access to all of your important information and keep it safe.
